During a traffic stop on Branch Street in Baldwin, a deputy reportedly made contact with a passenger who was identified as Caesar. While speaking with him, the deputy reportedly smelled the strong odor of marijuana on his person and detained him. While in custody, Caesar allegedly attempted to remove a bag from inside his pants and began to violently pull away from deputies. Deputies recovered the bag and located marijuana inside. Detectives also recovered a second bag containing smaller baggies of heroin and cocaine along with approximately 50 empty baggies. Deputies contacted Narcotics Section detectives to continue the investigation. Detectives located over $2,000 in cash and found evidence that the money was obtained through the sale of illegal drugs. A deputy transported Caesar to the parish jail for booking. After removing Caesar from the police unit, the deputy located another small bag of heroin beneath the seat of the vehicle. No bail is set.
