One suspect in theft identified

Detectives have identified one of the suspects seen Feb. 14 on surveillance footage loading a stolen TV into an SUV at Walmart in Bayou Vista, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.
A detective has identified the suspect who entered the store and took a TV as Richard Ellison Graves Jr., 38, whose last known address are on Victoria Riverside Road and Cremo Lane in Patterson. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on the charge of felony theft. Graves also holds an active warrant from 2012 from Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on drug court charges. No picture is available at this time for public release other than the still photos from the surveillance video, the release stated. The incident took place in the early morning hours of at Walmart in Bayou Vista. At 3:30 a.m. Feb. 14, two people were seen on video surveillance pulling up to the front entrance of the store in an SUV, the release stated.
One of the people seen in the video exits the passenger side of the vehicle and enters the front doors of the business before walking through the store into a restricted warehouse area. The person then took a large flat screen television from the storage area and leaves the building through a rear emergency exit triggering a fire alarm, the release stated.
The person in the video loaded the stolen TV into the SUV driven to the rear of the store by another unknown person, the release stated. As the vehicle drove away, the rear driver’s side door of the vehicle was open and the stolen TV could be seen protruding from the SUV, the release stated.
The vehicle traveled out of the parking lot and onto Delmar Road with the open rear door.
