Patterson man charged with aggravated assault

A 29-year-old Patterson man was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault in connection with a domestic violence incident, Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said in a news release.
—Jeremiah Wiltz, 29, of the 1500 block of Plum Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault involving domestic violence. Wiltz was jailed with no bail set yet.
LaSalle reported the fol-lowing arrest:
—Jerry Lee Favors, 51, of the 900 block of Hickory Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. Tues-day on the charge of disturbing the peace. Favors was jailed on $483 cash bail.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Tremaine Ruffin Jr., 17, of Wren Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:52 a.m. Tuesday and charged with two counts of burglary.
Ruffin, who was incarcerated in the Morgan City jail, was booked on additional charges of two counts of burglary. Police conducted an investigation of reported burglaries in Morgan City and discovered evidence of Ruffin’s involvement in the burglaries. Ruffin was jailed.
—Thomas R. Cook, 32, of River Road in Berwick, was arrested at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday on the charges of possession of marijuana and possession of Klonopin.
Officers responded to a business on Railroad Avenue in regard to a report of an assault. Officers arrived and located Cook who was suspected of the alleged assault. During an investigation, Cook told officers that he had illegal drugs in his possession. Cook was searched when officers located suspected marijuana and Klonopin. Cook was jailed.
—Michael R. Schulmeister, 47, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday on warrants charging him with possession of methamphetamine and violation of uniform con-trolled dangerous substance laws.
Narcotics detectives located Schulmeister at an address on First Street where he was arrested on warrants. The warrants stem from an April 14 incident in which Schulmeister was alleged to have been in possession of suspected methamphetamine within the area of a drug-free zone. Schulmeister was jailed.
—Rayfield Grant Jr., 30, of Front Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of disturbing the peace by use of offensive language.
Officers responded to an address on Terrebonne Street in regard to a report of a person yelling profanities. Officers located Grant, who matched the description provided, in the area. Police spoke with Grant, who continued yelling profanities in front of officers. Grant was jailed.
—Milan Sanders, 25, of Martin Luther King Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 12:04 a.m. today on the charges of possession of marijuana and introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
—Ricky Williams Jr., 20, of Lloyd Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:04 a.m. today on the charge of possession of marijuana.
Officers responded to a restaurant on La. 182 in regard to a report of people smoking illegal narcotics in the parking lot. The officers arrived when they located Sanders and Williams in the parking lot. Sanders and Williams were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, Blair said.
Both Sanders and Williams were transported to the Morgan City jail for booking where a more thorough search was conducted. During the search, Sanders was found to be in possession of more suspected marijuana, Blair said. Sanders and Williams were jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 30 complaints in the parish and reported no arrests in east St. Mary Parish.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
