Police: Man arrested for assault after threatening woman
A 34-year-old Morgan City man was charged with assault Monday after threatening to physically harm a woman at a Terrebonne Street home, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Brian J Fitter, 34, of Kelli Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:58 p.m. Monday on the charge of simple assault.
Officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a Terrebonne Street home. Officers arrived and located Fitter and a woman at the home. A woman and witnesses told officers that Fitter and the woman were involved in an argument when Fitter threatened to physically harm the woman, Blair said. Fitter was jailed.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Randall M. LeJeune, 53, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:57 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft by shoplifting, a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of contempt of court and on a warrant charging him with contempt of court.
Officers located LeJeune in the area of Sixth and Arenz streets where he was arrested on several warrants. LeJeune was jailed.
—Nicole Hampton, 29, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Monday on the charges of no driver’s license, obstructed windshield, expired motor vehicle inspection sticker and on a warrant charging her with criminal neglect of family.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling near the La. 182/U.S. 90 intersection with a shattered windshield and stopped the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Hampton, who had an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Hampton was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 30 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Denise Aucoin, 36, of Mars Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:12 a.m. today on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs. A deputy responded to an unrelated complaint at a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with Aucoin and located the active warrant for her arrest. Aucoin was jailed with no bail set.
