A Morgan City father and his son are accused of charging at police officers Thursday after police responded to a disturbance at a Freret Street residence, Morgan City Police Capt. James Blair said.

—Dillon R. Swanson, 17, of the 600 block of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Thursday for disturbing the peace, resisting an officer by force or violence, criminal damage to property more than $1,000 and public intimidation.
Police received a call of a disturbance at a residence in the 600 block of Freret Street and saw a woman cleaning up items from the disturbance when they arrived, Blair said.
While officers were at the residence, Eric Swanson rushed out of the house and attempted to leave on foot, Blair said. When questioned by officers, he attempted to strike an officer in the face, Blair said. When Eric Swanson charged at an officer, the officer deployed a TASER, which incapacitated Eric Swanson, Blair said. Officers used a stun-gun on Eric Swanson twice during the incident, Blair said.
Swanson’s son, Dillon Swanson, then rushed out of the residence and charged at officers, Blair said. Both father and son continued to make threats toward officers.
As Dillon Swanson was escorted to a police unit, he kicked the door of an unmarked police unit causing more than $1,000 damage to the vehicle, Blair said. Dillon Swanson had to be restrained and placed in a marked police unit, Blair said. Both were jailed and placed in a holding cell due to their combative nature, Blair said. Bail is set at $2,168 for Eric Swanson while Dillon Swanson has no bail set.
