Police: Morgan City man busted window in Franklin
A 26-year-old Morgan City man was arrested Tuesday by Franklin police after he broke a window at a Hamilton Street home, Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire said in a news release.
—Daeon Johnson, 26, of Apple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of simple criminal damage to property. Officers responded to a home on Hamilton Street on a complaint of damage to property.
Johnson allegedly went to the home and busted a window. When officers spoke to Johnson, he admitted to breaking the window, McGuire said. Johnson was jailed with no bail set yet.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 47 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Keiera Wood, 19, of Willard Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, failure to use seatbelts, and failure to honor written promise to appear. Wood was also charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of unlawful purchase and/or public possession of alcoholic beverages.
A correctional officer transported Wood from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrants. No bail is set.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Jasper Minor, 23, of Sixth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of theft of goods.
An officer responded to a retail store on La. 182 in regard to a reported theft. The officer located Minor who had allegedly taken an item from the store without payment.
Minor admitted to taking the item valued at $11.99, which was turned over to the officer and later released back to the retail store, Blair said. Minor was jailed.
—Keiera Wood, 19, of Willow Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting and the charge of probation violation.
Wood was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office jail to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to active warrants. Wood was jailed.
—Oscar Detrinidad, 37, of Chirpy’s Lane in Amelia, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of no driver’s license and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Railroad Avenue near Grizzaffi Street at a high rate of speed. The officer clocked the vehicle at 62 mph in a 35 mph speed zone and made a traffic stop. The driver, Detrinidad, did not have a valid driver’s license and was jailed.
—Tina M. Ordoyne, 37, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging her with contempt of court.
Officers located Ordoyne at a home on Fourth Street where she was arrested on an active warrant. Ordoyne was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
