Police Repors 9-1-15

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Shawn Barabin, 29, of 2500 Fourth St., Jeanerette, was arrested Monday at 3:43 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on a charge of criminal neglect of family. No bond was set.
Rodney Bowie, 37, of 205 Martin Luther King Blvd., Franklin, was arrested Monday at 5:21 p.m. on failure to appear warrants on charges of criminal neglect of family and issuing worthless checks. Bond was set at $18,040.
The following two arrests resulted after officers responded to a complaint of “suspicious people,” with a description of the suspect vehicle in the area of Main Street. Officers located the vehicle in the area of Eastwood Drive. The vehicle reportedly had no license plate, no insurance and an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker. Officers reportedly saw a rifle in the vehicle.
Arrested was Aaron Simoneaux, 26, of Roderick Street, Morgan City, at 5:26 p.m. Monday on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. No bond was set.
Also arrested was Ryan Sullivan, 25, of Mendoza Drive, Franklin, on charges of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, no license plate and expired inspection. No bond was set.
In other arrests, Richard Cormier 27, of Franklin, was charged Friday at 9:49 p.m. with criminal trespassing and held on $500 bond.
Christopher Cowart, 37, of Thelma Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 12:22 p.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated and released on $500 bond.
Curtis Peters, 49, of Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 6:45 p.m. on a charge of molestation of a juvenile involving a 13-year-old male. No bond was set.
Shawn Barabin, 29, of Fourth Street, Jeanerette, was arrested Sunday at 1:34 a.m. on charges of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm on the premises of an alcoholic beverage outlet and parole violation. No bond was set.
Carl Short, 44, of Thomas Street, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 5:51 p.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace and released to appear in court.
Carla Gutridge, 50, of Thomas Street, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 5:51 p.m. on a charge of disturbing the peace and released on $250 bond.
