Police Reports 7-15-16

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Aquindus Humphrey, 20, of 171 Village Lane, Amelia, was arrested Thursday at 11:57 a.m. on a charge of simple cruelty to animals.
Also arrested was Raynel Humphrey, 54, same address, on a charge of simple cruelty to animals.
A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of a malnourished dog. The deputy located the dog on Village Lane. The dog reportedly appeared emaciated and was without adequate shelter. The dog had ant bites over its face and legs. A. Humphrey was ultimately released on a summons.
The deputy located the dog chained to a fence on Village Lane. The deputy made contact with the homeowner and learned that the dog belonged to her son. During the course of the investigation, the deputy reportedly learned that Raynel Humphrey failed to improve the dog’s living conditions. She was released on a summons.
Ashley Nicole Campbell, 34, of 206 California St., Berwick, was arrested Thursday at 11:25 a.m. on a failure to appear warrant on a charge of theft under $300. No bond was set.
Seth Martin, 24, of 202 California St., Berwick, was arrested Thursday at 5:15 p.m. on a charge of theft and released on a summons.
Patrick Levine, 45, of 1051 Belleview St., Bayou Vista, was arrested Friday at 1:13 a.m. on a charge of open alcohol container in a vehicle and was released on a summons.
Dale Simoneaux Jr., 25, of 10799 La. 182, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 11:31 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Bond was set at $12,725.
David Phillips, 36, of 201 Collins St., Baldwin, was arrested Thursday at 2:10 p.m. on a charge of bringing contraband into a jail. No disposition was released.
Graceland Gabriel, 28, of 321 Second St., Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 12:27 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace and criminal trespassing and was released on a summons.
Sheriff’s Narcotics Division agents arrested Derek Gaskins, 34, of 131½ Friendship Alley, Amelia, Thursday at 3:31 p.m. on charges of:
—Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
—Possession of a Schedule II narcotic (meth) with intent to distribute
—Possession of a Schedule II narcotics (hydrocodone) with intent to distribute
—Possession of drug paraphernalia
—Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
—Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
—Transactions involving drug proceeds
—Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone
Detectives with the St Mary Parish Narcotics Division initiated an investigation of alleged illegal drug activity at Gaskins’ residence. A search was conducted of the residence and the following was reportedly located: bags of meth, bags of crack cocaine, bags of marijuana, and a large amount of hydrocodone pills with a street value of $2,500. Detectives also reportedly located a rifle and shotgun hidden in the residence. The residence is situated near a church. No bail is set.
Eric Robertson, 53, of 102 Mallard St., Morgan City, was arrested Thursday at 6:10 p.m. on charges of criminal trespassing, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule II narcotic (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, obstruction of justice and drug free zone violation. Detectives answered a complaint of alleged illegal drug activity at a residence on Grace Street in Morgan City. Detectives responded to the residence, and reportedly saw Robertson flee the area. Robertson ran through neighboring yards but was caught shortly afterwards. Detectives reportedly located crack cocaine, a pill bottle containing additional crack cocaine with razor blades in the area Robertson had been sitting in. No bail is set.
Also arrested were: Verelyn Cannon, 57, of 1015 Grace St., Morgan City, was arrested Thursday at 6:10 p.m. on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Cannon was released on a summons.
Mary Griffin, 47, of 761 Utah St., Berwick LA, was arrested on Thursday at 6:10 p.m. on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons.
Tanisha Wilkerson, 40, of 116 Grace St., Morgan City, was arrested Thursday at 6:10 p.m. on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons.
Melvin Thibodaux, 47, 1423 James St., Morgan City, was arrested on Thursday at 6:10pm on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Johnathan Taylor, 40, of Abbeville, Thursday at 11:15 a.m. on warrants charging him with felony theft of goods and two parole detainer dockets. Abbeville Police Department arrested Taylor on an active warrant held by the Franklin Police Department. Taylor was transported from Abbeville to Franklin and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Linda Higgins, 54, of Cayce Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday, at 12:52 p.m. on charges of criminal trespassing-second offense and theft. He was released to appear in court.
Johnathan Bergeron, 22 of Lagrange Robicheaux Road, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 2:14 p.m. on a charge of shoplifting and released on $1,000 bond. Officers responded to complaint of an allged theft from an employee at a business on Main Street. Upon officer arrival, contact was made with the manager, who advised that Bergeron was allegedly caught stealing two items.
Spencer Bourda, 25, of Iberia Street, Franklin was arrested Friday at 12:18 a.m. on a failure to appear warrant and resisting an officer, as well as probation violation. No bond was set.
