Sheriff: Battery suspect grabbed woman’s face
A 55-year-old Patterson man was charged with battery Monday after grabbing a woman’s face while screaming at her. Two children were present at the home during the incident, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Paul Howse, 55, of Pecan Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 9:54 p.m. Monday on the charge of domestic abuse battery-child endangerment.
A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance in progress at a home in Patterson. The deputy made contact with Howse outside the home and observed him stumble as he walked. The deputy also observed Howse slur his words as he talked.
During the investigation, the deputy found evidence that Howse forcefully grabbed a woman’s face while yelling and screaming at her. Two juveniles were in the home at the time the domestic abuse occurred. Howse was jailed with no bail set.
Hebert reported responding to 35 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Mia M. Blair, 19, of Greenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:16 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference and for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy located Blair at her home on the warrant. She was jailed with bail set at $100,000.
—Richard Turner Jr., 56, of Utah Street in Berwick, was arrested at 10:58 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of undersized red drum. Turner turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. He was released on $2,000 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Sana Khan, 27, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:52 p.m. Monday on a warrant charging her with probation violation.
Officers located Khan at a Fourth Street home and arrested her on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court. Kahn was jailed.
—Misty Gaudet, 28, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:52 p.m. Monday on a warrant charging her with failure to appear for a traffic offense.
Officers located Gaudet at a home on Fourth Street and arrested her on a warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Gaudet was jailed.
—Kenadie M. Bourque, 19, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:51 p.m. Monday on the charges of improper lighting-two headlamps required, no vehicle license plate or registration, possession of marijuana, possession of clonazepam and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance laws.
A patrolling officer ob-served a vehicle traveling in the area of Levee Road near Leona Street with only one operating headlight and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Bourque.
Investigators discovered that the vehicle did not have a license plate or vehicle registration. Bourque’s behavior made officers suspicious that she may be involved in illegal drug activity.
Police searched the vehicle and located suspected marijuana and clonazepam. The location of the incident was within the area of a local elementary school in violation of controlled dangerous sub-stance laws. Bourque was jailed.
