Sheriff: Man charged with rape of second girl

A 43-year-old Bayou Vista man, charged with the rape of a girl Thursday, was arrested for the alleged rape of another girl Friday, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—William Frederick, 43, of the 300 block of David Road in Bayou Vista, was additionally charged on a second warrant charging him with forcible rape at 3:03 p.m. Friday.
On Thursday, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of rape. The detective assigned to the case gathered evidence indicating that Frederick had non-consensual sexual intercourse with a juvenile female. The abuse occurred multiple times at a residence in Bayou Vista when the victim was 8 to 10 years old. Frederick was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on related charges. No bail is set.
Frederick had previously been arrested Thursday on the charge of forcible rape in a separate case. The detective assigned to the case gathered evidence indicating Frederick had non-consensual sexual intercourse with a juvenile female over the course of several years. The victim was 12 years old when the abuse began.
No other victims have come forward in the case, but if there are more victims, Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Traci Landry encouraged them to contact the sheriff’s office.
According to the detective’s investigation, the most recent incident of sexual abuse occurred in November 2014.
Hebert reported responding to 117 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Brian Guidry, 51, of the 100 block of Calhoun Street in Amelia, at 7:11 a.m. Friday on the charge of hit and run driving. A deputy investigating a hit and run crash that occurred on Barrow Street in Amelia, learned that Guidry struck a male subject who was riding a bicycle in the roadway. Guidry was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 13, 2016. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
—Charles Clark, 57, no address given, at 8:05 a.m. Friday on the charges of criminal trespass and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person on Belleview Street in Bayou Vista learned that a man was sleeping on the grounds of the Bayou Vista Community Center.
The deputy made contact with the man, who refused to identify himself. The man was transported to the parish jail for booking and was subsequently identified as Clark. Clark was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 13, 2016.
—Larry C. Rebardi, 57, of the 400 block of Darlene Street in Patterson, at 2:23 p.m. Friday on a warrant for illegal use of a weapon. A deputy investigating a complaint of a disturbance learned that Rebardi fired a shotgun towards the ceiling of his residence during an argument with another man. Rebardi turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City. He was booked in parish jail and released after posting $5,000 bail.
—Donnie Brown, 58, of the 3200 block of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, at 3:59 p.m. Friday on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of issuing worthless checks. A deputy was dispatched to the Berwick Police Department in reference to a subject who had outstanding bench warrants for the sheriff’s office. The deputy transported Brown to the parish jail for booking. Brown was released on $10,000 recognizance bail.
—Jorge Cordova, 32, of the 700 block of Duval Street in Amelia, at 1:39 a.m. Saturday on the charge of failure to yield to emergency vehicles and possession of open alcoholic container in motor vehicle. While conducting a traffic stop on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, a deputy observed another vehicle fail to reduce speed nearly striking the front of the police unit. The deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Cordova. The deputy observed an open can of beer inside the vehicle. Cordova was jailed.
—Eddy Pardo Cervantes, 36, of the 600 block of Sebby’s Lane in Bayou Vista, at 2:43 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of disobeying a traffic light, operating a vehicle with an expired license plate and failure to honor written promise to appear.
While responding to a separate complaint, a deputy made contact with Cervantes and located an active warrant for his arrest. Cervantes was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a summons to appear in court Feb. 11, 2016.
—Ty M. Hammonds, 35, of the 700 block of St. Michael Street in Patterson, at 6:08 p.m. Sunday on the charges of hit and run driving and reckless operation of a vehicle with a crash. Deputies responded to a single vehicle hit and run crash at the intersection of Easy Street and Irish Bend Road in Franklin.
Upon arrival, deputies learned from witnesses that the driver had fled the scene on foot. As deputies searched for the driver, they were flagged down by a resident who reported suspicious persons on his property. With the assistance of the property owner, deputies located the driver, identified as Hammonds, along with a female passenger and her small dog. Following the investigation into the crash, Hammonds was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 13, 2016.
