Sheriff: Teen kicked in motel door

A Patterson teen was arrested Wednesday because he allegedly kicked in the door of a Bayou Vista motel room after being told not to return to the room, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Taylor Davis, 17, of the 100 block of Natalie Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for criminal damage to property, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and criminal trespass.
A deputy obtained the warrant following an investigation into a report of property damage that occurred at a motel in Bayou Vista on Sept. 5.
The deputy determined that Davis went onto the property and kicked the door of a room after being told not to return, Hebert said. Another deputy made contact with Davis on Natalie Lane during an investigation into a separate complaint and located the active warrant for his arrest. Davis was jailed with no bail set.
Hebert reported responding to 38 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—John G. Deville, of the 200 block of Grandwood Drive in Patterson, at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday on the charges of possession of Schedule I drugs second offense, abuse of toxic vapors and careless operation of a motor vehicle.
After receiving a complaint of a reckless driver, a deputy located a vehicle matching the description off the roadway, near the opposite lane of travel, near a ditch on La. 182 near the Greenwood overpass. The deputy observed the driver to be asleep at the wheel, with a lit rolled cigar in his hand, and the vehicle in drive.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Deville, and had him place the vehicle in park and turn the engine off. While speaking with Deville about what happened, Deville admitted to the deputy that he was smoking a synthetic drug, Hebert said. Following the investigation, Deville was jailed with no bail set.
—Devin Metrejean, 22, of the 100 block of Sun Road in Bayou Vista, at 8:52 p.m. Wednesday for driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling Siracusaville observed a vehicle with an unlit license plate light and conducted a traffic stop.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Metrejean, and learned that he was operating the vehicle despite having a suspended driver’s license. The deputy released Metrejean on a summons to appear in court Nov. 9.
—Johnny Francois, 25, of the 500 block of Fifth Street in Morgan City, at 7:01 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant on the charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Sept. 19, 2014, detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a home in the 600 block of Seventh Street in Morgan City.
Detectives found marijuana, several marijuana plants, and items of drug paraphernalia. During the investigation, detectives determined that the plants belonged to Francois, who was not at the location at the time, Hebert said. Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On Tuesday, while patrolling Morgan City, detectives saw Francois standing in front of a Fifth Street home in Morgan City. Francois was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrest:
—Micah Soileau, 18, of Patterson, at 5 p.m. Wednesday on the charge of disturbing the peace.
Officers were called to a local medical office after a disturbance took place. Officers spoke with the suspect involved in the disturbance, who was identified as Soileau.
Soileau stated that he wanted to get his prescription refilled, but stated that they refused to do so, Blair said. An officer then spoke with office personnel who stated that Soileau could not get a refill until 30 days, Blair said. Soileau was informed that he needed to leave the office, but stated that he would not until he got a new prescription, Blair said. Soileau was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
