Suspect’s identity sought in jail drop investigation

Authorities are seeking the public's help to identify a man seen on surveillance video Sunday dropping a package into a trash can at the St. Mary Parish jail.
Security personnel at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center intercepted a package at the facility containing cell phones and other items of contraband. During the investigation, correctional officers viewed video surveillance footage from Sunday. Just before 8:20 a.m., a male subject is seen dropping a package into a trash can at the law enforcement center. Detectives are currently working to identify the male suspect.
