Traffic stop leads to drug, battery arrest

A 39-year-old Siracusaville man was caught with over 250 ecstasy pills Tuesday and booked on a warrant for striking a woman in the face in October after St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives stopped a vehicle that failed to signal two turns, Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Shaddrick J. Neddie, 39, of the 1300 block of James Street in Siracusaville, was arrested at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of possession of MDMA with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, criminal damage to property and on a warrant for simple battery, criminal damage to property, and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
Narcotics division detectives patrolling Siracusaville observed a vehicle fail to signal two turns and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, identified as Neddie, detectives located an active warrant for his arrest. Detectives also received consent to search the vehicle and found over 250 MDMA pills, also known as ecstasy, and a bag of marijuana.
After being placed in a police unit, Neddie began beating his head against the vehicle window breaking the window frame. The warrant for Neddie’s arrest was issued following an October 2015 investigation into a report of a battery that occurred outside of a home in Siracusaville.
A detective gathered evidence that Neddie struck a woman in the face breaking a necklace she was wearing. The detectives also found that Neddie had entered into a home without permission. Neddie was jailed with no bail set.
Hebert reported responding to 51 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Michael Johnson Jr., 25, of the 100 block of Dora Street in Amelia, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of improper lane usage, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and transactions involving drug proceeds.
Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on La. 182 in the Morgan City area after observing a vehicle cross over the solid white line of the roadway. After the traffic stop was initiated, detectives observed the driver fidgeting near the center console area of the pick-up truck.
Detectives stopped the driver, identified as Johnson, and conducted a search surrounding the driver’s seat. Detectives observed a handgun and several rocks of crack cocaine. During a search of Johnson, detectives located several more rocks of crack cocaine in his pockets. As the investigation continued, detectives found Johnson in possession of $259 in cash suspected of being derived from the sale of illegal drugs. Johnson was jailed with no bail set.
—Bianca Mondragon, 25, of the 100 block of McGill Drive in Gibson, was arrested at 7:46 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of disturbing the peace fighting, remaining where forbidden and criminal damage to property.
Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Village Lane in Amelia. Deputies collected statements and other evidence that Mondragon struck a man during an argument. Mondragon also damaged a television during the physical altercation. Mondragon was booked into parish jail and later released on a summons to appear in court July 25.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Joshua P. Roshell, 24, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of disturbing the peace.
Officers responded to an address on 11th Street in regard to a call of a disturbance. Officers arrived and located several people inside the home, including Roshell. Roshell appeared to be involved in an argument and was shouting and using profane language.
Officers warned Roshell about his behavior, and he continued shouting out profanities causing a disturbance. Roshell was jailed.
—Lazaro G. Ambriz, 20, of Greer Court in Napoleonville, was arrested at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of obscured windshield, no driver’s license and improper lens color.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Grizzaffi Street near La. 182. The officer observed that the vehicle had a busted windshield and the turning signal lens was blue and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle, Ambriz, did not have a driver’s license. Ambriz was jailed.
—Johanna A. Tabor, 49, of Shady Grove Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 10:17 p.m. Tuesday for failure to appear on the charge of theft by shoplifting and probation violation.
Tabor was transported from the Patterson Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department jail on warrants.
—Adam Guillory, 32, of Elaine Street in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. today on the charges of red light violation, improper lane usage, driving under suspension, possession of an alcoholic beverage inside a vehicle and driving while intoxicated third offense.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of La. 182 and Martin Luther King Boulevard. The officer also observed the vehicle traveling out of its lane of travel and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Guillory, had a suspended driver’s license.
The officer saw several open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle. Guillory was also suspected to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Guillory was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail for further chemical testing where Guillory submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .215 grams-percent. Guillory was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Desmond Richard, 34, of the 300 block of Mike Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of disturbing the peace and on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant charging him with simple criminal damage to property. Richard was jailed on $217 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
