Lady Tigers defeat Highland Baptist

NEW IBERIA _ Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers defeated Highland Baptist 15-0 here in an abbreviated contest of four-innings Tuesday in the District 7-A finale to move to 17-7 overall and 10-2 in league play.
Sarah Sonnier fired a no-hitter in earning the mound victory for the Lady Tigers. Sonnier, who has tossed her fifth no-hitter of the season, tossed four scoreless innings, not allowing a hit while giving up four walks and striking out 10.
Paige Diamond belted a home run, Alyssa Young, Kim Sonnier and Evelyn Pontiff all collected doubles.

The Hanson Lady Tigers will wait on the pairings for the state playoffs.
