Woman accused of stealing from her employer
A 23-year-old Patterson woman was arrested Tuesday after detectives discovered she stole more than $9,800 from her employer, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Lauren Lodrigue, 23, of the 100 block of Riverview Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 12:46 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for theft.
On Oct. 2, a detective began an investigation into a complaint of a theft perpetrated by an employee of a business in Bayou Vista.
The detective gathered evidence indicating that Lodrigue stole more than $9,800 over the course of seven months in 2015 by altering business deposit amounts. While speaking with the detective, Lodrigue admitted to taking the money.
She was transported to the parish jail. Lodrigue was released on a personal surety bond.
Hebert reported responding to 39 complaints and reported the following arrests:
—A juvenile male, 16, of Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a complaint of an ungovernable juvenile at a residence in Bayou Vista.
Upon arrival, the deputy learned that the juvenile damaged several household items during an argument with another subject. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Joseph F. Gioia, 57, of the 100 block of Marin Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of possession of marijuana. Deputies responded to a complaint at a residence in Patterson.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Gioia and conducted a pat down search for officer safety, locating a small amount of marijuana in the process. Gioia was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 13.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Trent Dehart, 17, of the 6700 block of La. 182 in Franklin, was arrested at 10:09 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of possession of tobacco – underage, possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia (first offense), resisting an officer by flight, stop sign violation (two counts), off-road vehicle on public roadway, no driver’s license, and two headlights required.
Dehart remains jailed in Patterson. No bail is set.
—Kelton Smith, 18, of the 200 block of Murial Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of resisting an officer by flight and on a warrant for Assumption Parish. Smith remains jailed in Patterson. Bail is set at $361.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Ashley Lanclos, 23, of the 500 block of Crenshaw Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of driving under suspension. Lanclos remains jailed in Berwick. Bail is set at $1,000.
—Steven Legnon, 22, of the 100 block of Legnon Court in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of hit and run. Legnon was released on $1,000 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Richard Oveal, 38, of Martin Luther King Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday on the charge for warrant - failure to appear to pay probation fee (Sixth Ward City Court).
Oveal was transported from the Patterson Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to an active warrant for his arrest by the 6th Ward City Court.
Oveal was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail and incarcerated.
—Nakeisa Walker, 36, of Domino Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 12:56 p.m. Tuesday on warrants for failure to appear for restitution, contempt of court, and failure to appear to pay fines.
Walker was transported by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to active warrants held for her arrest by the Sixth Ward City Court. Walker was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail and incarcerated.
—Edner F. Lopez, 36, of Kidd Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of appearing in public intoxicated. Officers responded to an address on Grizzaffi Street in regard to a subject that reportedly had a weapon and was refusing to leave.
Officers arrived on scene but the subject in question had already left the residence. Officers then observed Lopez, who fit the description of the subject involved, walking in the area.
Officers came into contact with Lopez at which time Lopez allowed officers to search his person for weapons, but none were located.
Reports indicated that while in contact with Lopez, it was believed that he had been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Lopez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and jailed.
—Celina M. Lipari, 38, of Cremo Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of possession of Schedule III controlled dangerous substance (Subutex).
—Donald E. Hull, 50, of Grey Eagle Street in Jeanerette, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of improper lighting (two headlamps required), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of Schedule III controlled dangerous substance (Subutex).
Officers were patrolling the area of Fourth Street near Everett Street when a vehicle was observed traveling on Everett Street with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted.
The driver was identified as Hull and the passenger as Lipari. Hull was asked to produce a valid driver’s license when, according to reports, Hull appeared to be reaching under his seat.
Both Hull and Lipari exited the vehicle and appeared to be nervous. Hull gave officers permission to search the vehicle. Suspected Subutex and drug paraphernalia were located.
Lipari had also given officers permission to search her person where suspected Subutex was also found.
Both Hull and Lipari were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and jailed.
—Michelle B. Ratcliff, 40, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. today on the charges of domestic abuse battery and resisting an officer. Officers responded to a local bar on La. 182 in regard to a disturbance inside.
Officers arrived on scene and located a subject who appeared to have been the victim of a battery. The victim stated he and his wife, Ratcliff, were inside talking when she struck him several times.
Reports indicated that witnesses also observed Ratcliff striking her husband several times. Contact was made with Ratcliff. She refused to cooperate with officers and took an aggressive stance towards them.
Ratcliff was placed under arrest and then she began to actively resist officers. After a short struggle, Ratcliff was handcuffed and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
—Wendy L. Taylor, 53, of Lagonda Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. today on the charges of improper lane usage and driving while intoxicated. Officers patrolling the La. 182 area near Justa Street observed a vehicle swerving out of its lane of travel.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, identified as Taylor, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.
Reports indicated that while officers were in contact with Taylor, it was believed that she had been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Taylor was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for further testing, which she refused.
Taylor was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail and incarcerated.
