Dear Editor:
This is my opinion on the charter amendment vote — I am disappointed. I feel that as “public servants” it is not being responsible to ask voters in our parish to vote for substantial pay raises for council members by unanimous vote in one meeting, then in the next meeting have five of 11 members vote against being responsible to the voter, by not giving them the chance to vote. Whether or not they want to pay more (tax money) to members when they do not show up at the meetings, where decisions are finalized that council members are elected to vote on.
