All area softball teams in playoffs

All four Tri-City area prep softball teams qualified for the postseason when the Louisiana High School Athletic Association released its postseason brackets Thursday.
In Class 1A, Central Catholic is the No. 2 seed, while in Class 4A, Morgan City advanced to the postseason as a No. 16 seed. Class 3A’s Berwick and Patterson advanced to the postseason as No. 21 and No. 25, respectively.
Patterson will begin postseason play today when it travels to face No. 8 seed Evangel Christian in a 2 p.m. contest in Shreveport. See additional story for more on that matchup.
All other games will be played Tuesday. Central Catholic will host No. 31 seed Oberlin in Bayou Vista at 5 p.m., while Morgan City will host No. 17 seed West Ouachita at 6 p.m. Berwick will travel to face No. 12 North Webster, also at 6 p.m.
