Area games cancelled today

Today's area prep baseball and softball games were washed out due to weather.
The baseball contests included a District 7-1A matchup between Central Catholic and Vermilion Catholic in Amelia, a District 7-4A game between Morgan City and South Terrebonne in Bourg and a District 9-3A contest between Patterson and Berwick in Berwick.
All three games are set to be played Wednesday as Morgan City and South Terrebonne will meet at 4 p.m. or 4:30 p.m., while Central Catholic and Vermilion Catholic and Patterson and Berwick will begin at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, on the softball diamond, Central Catholic's District 7-1A contest with Lafayette Christian, Morgan City's District 7-4A contest with Ellender, Berwick's nondistrict matchup with Catholic High-New Iberia and Patterson's nondistrict contest with Centerville have been washed out.
The only games set for makeup are Central Catholic's and Morgan City's district contests. Both road games are set for a 4 p.m. start.
