Berwick and Central Catholic High schools competed in regional bowling action at Creole Lanes in Houma Monday. Berwick’s boys won their match against Houma Christian and advanced to the bi-regional round of the bowling playoffs,

Berwick boys advance to Bi-Regionals

The Berwick Panthers bowling team advanced to Bi-regionals, winning their lone match of regional play Monday at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Berwick (12-1), which received a first-round bye, defeated Houma Christian in the second round, 20-7.
They now will advance to bi-regionals, which will be held March 30 at Holiday Lanes in Bossier City.
Aaron Barrilleaux led Berwick with a 603 series. He bowled games of 237, 165 and 201.
Other top bowlers Monday for Berwick included Abram Gilder with a 548 series (161, 209, 178), Quentin Kelly with a 542 series (150, 232, 160), Blake Bergeron with a 542 series (209, 184) and Mark Lemoine with a 539 series (176, 166, 197).
Other top games for the Panthers included Brandon Lemoine’s 153 and 170.
In girls’ action, Berwick eliminated Central Catholic 19.5-7.5 in first-round action before ending its season with a loss to top seed Ellender, 20-7.
However, Berwick’s Josie Estay and Mickenzie Reed advance to bi-regionals in singles action.
In Monday’s game against Central Catholic, Reed led Berwick with a 540 series (223, 152, 165), while Estay had a 455 series (159, 169).
Other top games by the Lady Panthers included Takeisha Jones’ 150 and Micah Lambert’s 148.
In the loss, Central Catholic’s Alex Aucoin bowled a 401 series (139, 140), while other top games were turned in by Ann Mary Dupuis (130, 134) and Maya Bochas (149).
In the loss to Ellender, Estay led Berwick with a 482 series (140, 164, 178), while Reed recorded a 432 series (150, 157).
Lambert also had a game of 137.
