Berwick High School athletes recognized in multiple sports

Berwick High School honored athletes in 12 sports during its annual awards ceremony Monday at the Berwick Civic Complex.
Athletes in girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, girls’ bowling, boys’ bowling, golf, girls’ tennis, boys’ tennis, baseball, softball, boys’ track and field, girls’ track and field and the school’s Top Cats all were honored.
Additionally, Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards were given as well as Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards and the Tommy Bourgeois Scholarships.
The school’s Wendy’s Heisman winner also was recognized.
Berwick’s Male Athlete of the Year was Brooks Richard, while the Female Athlete of the Year was Ashton Morales.
The Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year was Brannon Melancon, while the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year was Olivia Gilbert.
The Tommy Bourgeois Scholarships were given to Maria Trevino and Nick Duthu, while the school’s Wendy’s Heisman winner was Drew Landry.
