The Berwick Panther Powerlifting team competed in the Woodlawn Powerlifting Invitational Saturday. The Lady Panthers competed against 41 girls from Ascension Catholic, Archbishop Hannan, Episcopal, East St. John and Zachary high schools. Mary Grace Theriot and Cate Koen placed first in their weight classes, while Adella Guidroz and Kayley Girior placed second and third in their
respective weight classes. The Panther boys competed against 79 lifters from Ascension Catholic, Holy Cross, Runnels, Episcopal, Zachary, Broadmoor and East St. John. Brennan Benedietto placed first in his weight class and set a Woodlawn Invitational squat record for his weight class with 375-pound effort. Braxton Laurent placed second in his weight class, while Sebastian Fuentes and
Bristol Gros placed third in their weight classes. Gros set a Woodlawn High School Invitational squat record with a 435-pound effort for his weight class.
