Berwick High powerlifters compete at Abbeville meet

Berwick High School’s powerlifting teams were in action Saturday at a meet in Abbeville.
Four boys and three girls recorded second-place finishes to lead the squads.

Berwick High School had three members of its girls powerlifting team record top 3 finishes at the Division 3 state meet at Church Point High School Friday. Mary Grace Theriot placed third in the 97-pound weight class with total lifts of 390 pounds in the squat, bench press and deadlift, while Caroline Osburn was second in the 198 pound class with a total of 655 pounds and Shelby Bergeron, third in the 105-pound class with a total of 525 pounds. Berwick powerlifters record top 3 finishes

The Berwick Lady Panthers had a successful close to their inaugural powerlifting season as three competitors placed in the top three in their weight categories at the state meet.
