By GEOFF STOUTE, gstoute@daily-review.com

There’s a lot to celebrate in Berwick this week.
First of all, it’s homecoming.
Secondly, the Panthers are 3-0.
And lastly, the school will honor two Berwick ex-standouts, Lloyd Burchfield and Lud Henry, as they become the inaugural members of the school’s athletic hall of fame. See additional story.
But the marquee event lies on the field where the Panthers will look to keep their perfect season in tact when they host Franklin in both team’s District 8-3A opener.
Both enter the game ranked in the top 10 in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A power rankings. Berwick is No. 4, while Franklin is No. 10.
Franklin enters the game with a 1-2 mark, having defeated Jeanereatte, 6-0, last week after falling in its first two contests to Loreauville, 26-18, and Walker, 44-0, respectively.
Meanwhile, Berwick is 3-0 after topping Morgan City, 27-21, Abbeville, 35-14, and holding off Varnado a week ago, 30-23.
