Breaux Bridge beats Lady Panthers, 47-36

The Berwick Lady Panthers fell to Breaux Bridge, 47-36, in nondistrict action at Breaux Bridge Thursday.
Breaux Bridge led 14-5 after a quarter, but Berwick cut its deficit to 25-19 at halftime.
However, Breaux Bridge outscored Berwick in the third quarter to extend its lead to 39-27 after three quarters.
Jordan Lipari led Berwick with 13 points. Other scorers included Alira Clark, nine; Sydney Aucoin, eight; Madison Carline, four; and Tamera Whitehead, two.
Berwick (2-12 overall, 0-2 in district) will return to action Jan. 3, when it hosts Franklin at 6 p.m.
Central Catholic
beats AES
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles opened District 7-1A action Wednesday with a 41-29 victory against Ascension Episcopal in Morgan City.
Yani Johnson led Central Catholic with 23 points. Emma Aucoin added six points.
Central Catholic (7-5, 1-0) will return to action Jan. 2 when it travels to face Gueydan in a 6 p.m. contest.
Patterson falls
to Abbeville
Abbeville High School defeated the Patterson High School Lumberjills, 43-27, Thursday in Abbeville.
No individual statistics were submitted for the nondistrict contest.
Patterson (3-6, 0-2) will return to action Jan. 6 when it travels to face Kaplan in a 6 p.m. contest.
Berwick falls to
Breaux Bridge (Boys)
The Berwick High School boys basketball team fell to Breaux Bridge on the road Thursday, 49-44.
No individual stats were submitted for the nondistrict contest.
Berwick (8-7) will return to action Tuesday when it begins play in North Vermilion’s tournament.
