Brusly defeats CCHS 3-1

Brusly High School defeated Central Catholic, 3-1, in baseball action in Brusly Wednesday.
Brusly took a 3-0 lead early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the second.
Central Catholic responded with a run in the top of the third.
Brusly added its final run in the bottom of the fifth.
Central Catholic outhit Brusly 7-4, but Central Catholic’s pitching staff combined for eight walks and one hit batter.
Gregory Leger suffered the loss for the Eagles. In four innings, he surrendered three runs — two earned — on two hits with four walks and fanned seven.
Central Catholic pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts in the loss
Offensively, Samuel Guarisco finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Stefano Guarisco was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run.
Central Catholic (3-1) will return to action today when it participates in Vandebilt Catholic’s tournament in Houma. The Eagles will face Terrebonne at 4 p.m. and Vandebilt Catholic at 6:30 p.m.
