Central Catholic opened District 7-1A play with a 21-2 victory against Lafayette Christian in five innings at Fabacher Field in Youngsville Monday.
After scoring just a run in the first inning, Central Catholic plated six runs in the second, eight in the third and six in the fourth.
Lafayette Christian scored both of its runs in the second inning.
Central Catholic outhit Lafayette Christian 16-4.
Thomas Garber finished 3-for-4 with a run to lead Central Catholic. Other top contributors included Stefano Guarisco, 2-for-3, a triple, two RBIs and four runs; Samuel Guarisco, 2-for-2, two doubles and two RBIs; Charlie Solar, 2-for-2, a double, two RBIs and a run; Drake Angeron, 1-for-1, three RBIs, a stolen base and two runs; Thomas Mire, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run; Brooks Thomas, 1-for-2, an RBI, a stolen base and three runs; Mitchell Lemoine, 1-for-3, an RBI and two runs; Blake Hidalgo, two RBIs and a run; and Cade Booty and Gregory Leger, each an RBI and a run.
Samuel Guarisco earned the win for Central Catholic. In three innings, he surrendered two earned runs on four hits with one walk and fanned three.
Central Catholic (11-1) will return to action today when it hosts Lafayette Christian in another district action. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
Game change
Patterson High School’s home game against French Settlement scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. has been moved up a day to Wednesday.
The Lumberjacks (6-7) will travel today to face Maurepas in a 4 p.m. contest.
