CCHS defeats Centerville, 50-20

Central Catholic defeated Centerville, 50-20, in District 7-1A girls basketball action in Morgan City Monday.
Lydia Rivas led Central Catholic with 20 points, while Hallie Autin also reached double figures with 11.
Other scorers included Taylor Picou, five; Rebecca David and Jalaysia Bertrand, four apiece; Sydney Williams, three; Rachel Rogers, two; and Yani Johnson, one.
Central Catholic (13-10 overall, 5-6 in district) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Highland Baptist in a 5:30 p.m. District 7-1A contest.
Morgan City falls to South Lafourche
Morgan City gave South Lafourche a tough game, but the Lady Tarpons pulled away late and avoided the upset bid for a 50-42 victory.
South Lafourche, ranked No. 11 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 4A power rankings, pulled away from Morgan City in about the last two minutes of the fourth quarter for the win.
Morgan City was led in scoring by Alisha Singleton with 16 points, while Sh’Diamond Holly scored 10.
Other scorers included Laqwaijha Bourgeois, nine; Steveyion Walker, four; Elicia Dorsey, two; and Hailey Lewis, one.
Morgan City (5-14, 1-7) will return to action Thursday when it travels to face Ellender in a 6 p.m. contest.
Berwick falls to Erath
Berwick High School fell to Erath, 45-14, in District 8-3A action on the road Tuesday.
Erath took a 17-0 lead after a quarter and extended its lead to 26-3 at the half and 37-9 after three quarters.
No individual stats were available for Berwick (1-16, 0-10). Berwick returns to action Friday when it hosts Patterson in a contest set to begin at approximately 6:15 p.m.
Patterson defeats Kaplan
The Patterson High School Lumberjacks defeated Kaplan High, 35-32, in District 8-3A action on the road Monday.
No individual stats were available.
Patterson (8-9, 5-4) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Berwick in District 8-3A action.
