CCHS Lady Eagles run-rule Gueydan, 11-1, in five innings

The Central Catholic Lady Eagles run-ruled Gueydan, 11-1, in five innings in District 7-1A softball action in Gueydan Monday.
Central Catholic scored in every inning, plating five runs in the first, two in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth and another in the fifth.
Gueydan scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth.
Sarah Thomas earned the win for the Lady Eagles as she tossed a two-hitter. In five innings, she surrendered one earned run with four strikeouts.
Offensively, Hallie Autin led Central Catholic with a 3-for-4 performance with two RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs. Other top offensive contributors included Kaleigh Navarro, 1-for-2, an RBI and two stolen bases; Kelly Russo, 1-for-3, an RBI, a stolen base and a run; and Taylor Picou, 1-for-2, a double and two runs.
Central Catholic (9-8 overall, 5-2 in district) will return to action Wednesday when it travels to face Vermilion Catholic in a 4 p.m. contest.
