CCHS rolls past Ascension Episcopal

Central Catholic run-ruled Ascension Episcopal, 11-1, in District 7-1A road action Wednesday.
The Eagles, who took a 3-0 lead after three innings, erupted for five runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
Ascension Episcopal scored its lone run in the bottom of the fifth.
Charlie Barron earned the win. In four innings, he surrendered four hits and fanned one.
In one inning of relief, Blake Hidalgo surrendered an earned run on two hits and struck out two.
Offensively, Nick Case finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs, while Bryson Barbier was 1-for-2 with four RBIs and two runs. Other top contributors included Samuel Guarisco, 1-for-2, a double, an RBI, two runs and a stolen base; Stefano Guarisco, 1-for-2, an RBI and a stolen base; Barron, 1-for-1, a double and three runs; and Sage Thibodaux, two RBIs.
The Eagles left 10 runners on base in the contest.
Central Catholic (20-3 overall, 8-1 in district) will return to action today when it hosts Hanson Memorial in a District 7-1A action. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.

Today’s junior varsity game will be cancelled.
