CCHS wins district game

Central Catholic picked up a 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-11) win against Covenant Christian in Division 5, District 6 action Tuesday on the road.
Meo Knight led the Lady Eagles with 15 kills, seven aces and four solo blocks; Kaitlyn Gros had 26 assists and four aces; and Olivia Crawford, eight digs.
Central Catholic (21-8 overall, 2-0 in district) will return to action today when it hosts West St. John. Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start, while varsity play will follow at 6 p.m.
Patterson falls to
E.D. White
The Patterson Lumberjills fell to E.D. White in Division 3, District 6 action Tuesday in Thibodaux.
The Lumberjills fell 6-25, 6-25, 10-25 to the Lady Cardinals, ranked No. 3 in Division 3 according to the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings released Tuesday morning.
Gaylen Grogan had three kills and three blocks for Patterson, while Rachel Easley had a kill and seven digs and Kailyn Johnson, a dig and three assists.
Patterson (7-12, 1-5) will have a week off from action when it travels Tuesday to face Donaldsonville in another district contest.
MCHS Pink Game today
Morgan City High School will host Berwick High School in its annual “Paint the Pit Pink” game today. Freshmen action will begin at 4 p.m., followed by junior varsity and varsity play at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.
Between the freshmen, junior varsity and varsity games, there will be activities for fans, such as trivia games.
Those who wear the “2013 PINK Be a Hero T-shirt” that was sold last month and early this month will be admitted to the match free.
