Centerville Bulldogs topple Hanson Tigers 81-46

Centerville canned 16 3-pointers, including nine in a 33-point in a third-quarter barrage as the Centerville Bulldogs toppled the Hanson Tigers 81-46 in District 7-1A action here Friday at the Billy Gene Talbot Gymnasium.
Centerville is now 16-5 overall and 8-2 in 7-1A.
Hanson slipped to 4-18 overall and 2-8 in 7-1A.
Centerville will host Ascension Episcopal on Tuesday night while Hanson will host Lafayette Christian.
Centerville moved to a 40-20 lead at intermission before erupting for a 73-36 advantage by knocking down 9 of 16 treys in the third quarter. Hanson managed a 10-8 run in the final period before Centerville strolled away with the 81-46 District 7-1A triumph.
Centerville’s top scorer was Jackson Hebert with 19 points on 2-2’s and 5-3’s. Lance Howard bagged 5-2’s, 1-3 and 3 of 6 FTs for 16 points while Jaylon Williams connected on 2-2’s, 3-3’s and 2 of 3 FTs for 15 points. Deandre Kinchen fired in 11 points on 1-2 along with 3-3’s. Jaqualon Bourgeois canned 3-3’s for 9 points while Marquis Strawder contributed six points on 3-2’s. Ryan Young tallied five points on 1-2 and 1-3.
On the night, the Bulldogs made good on 6 of 8 FTs along with 8 fouls.
Kyler Clements led the Hanson Tigers with 15 points on 6-2’s and 3 of 4 FTs. Brian Sonnier also finished in double digits with 4-2’s and 1-3 for 11 points. Skylar Fitch fired in five points on 1-2 and 1-3 with Colby Boudreaux adding four points on a pair of 2-2’s. Abdiel Macias tossed in four points on 2-2’s with Josh Luke scoring 3 points on a trey and Cane Boudreaux and Andrew Luke firing in two points apiece.
Hanson Memorial tossed in 3 of 4 freebies while committing 7 fouls on the night.
