Crawdaddy's Seafood tops Halimar 6-4

Halimar Shipyard (Central Catholic) fell to Crawdaddy’s Seafood (Houma Christian) 6-4 in Swampland baseball action Wednesday in Amelia.
While Halimar had some defensive struggles in the game, the team did turn a triple play in the loss.
Thomas Mire suffered the loss on the mound.
Offensively, Charlie Solar and Jesse Fontenot each finished 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Thomas Garber also had an RBI.
Halimar will return to action today when it faces Taco Bell (Berwick) in Berwick. Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Robichaux Ford 3,
Taco Bell 2 (8 innings)
Robichaux Ford used a double in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift it past Taco Bell 3-2.
On the play, Robichaux Ford had a runner on first and two outs.
Early on, Robichaux Ford scored a run apiece in the bottom of the second and third, while Taco Bell came back with two runs in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 2.
While Taco Bell coach Mike Thomas said his team pitched well, they left seven runners in scoring position with less than two outs.
Still, Thomas said he was proud of how his team competed.
Nick Mayon suffered the loss in relief. In 2.2 innings, he surrendered one earned run on two hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Andrew Askew started the game, and in five innings, he surrendered two runs — one earned — on two hits with two walks and one strikeout.
Offensively, Brandon Fryou led Taco Bell with a 2-for-4 performance, while Price was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Other action
Skipper’s Sporting Goods’ and Cardinal Lumber’s make-up contest from Wednesday was rained out.
Cardinal Lumber was supposed to play Synergy Bank (E.D. White) today, but that game has been rained out as well.
Cardinal Lumber (1-4) will return to action Monday when it travels to take on Synergy Bank in Thibodaux. Junior varsity action is set for 3:30 p.m. with varsity to follow at 5:30 p.m.
