Eagles fall to Teurlings Catholic

The Central Catholic Eagles fell to Teurlings Catholic Tuesday, 49-40.
Jalen Johnson led Central Catholic with 16 points, while Blake Byrne also reached double figures with 12 points.
Central Catholic (2-6) will return to action Saturday at 11 a.m. when it faces Lutcher in E.D. White’s tournament.
Lady Eagles fall to Teurlings
Teurlings Catholic defeated Morgan City 44-17 in girls’ basketball action Tuesday in Morgan City.
Teurlings Catholic jumped out to a 17-7 lead after the first quarter and extended its advantage to 25-7 at the half after holding the Lady Eagles scoreless in the second period.
The Lafayette-based school extended its lead over Central Catholic to 32-10 after three quarters.
Hallie Autin led Central Catholic with 12 points and added one steal and one rebound.
Other top contributors included Taylor Picou, two points, four steals, one assist and one rebound; Sydney Williams, two points and three rebounds; Mary-Beth Blanchard, one point and one rebound; and Hanna McCue, three rebounds.
Central Catholic will return to action today when it begins play in its annual Lady Eagle Christmas Classic with a 7 p.m. contest against West St. Mary.
