Ellender eases past Lady Tigers

Morgan City High School fell to Ellender, 68-32, in District 7-4A girls’ basketball action in Morgan City Tuesday.
Ellender outscored Morgan City in every quarter, taking a 16-9 lead after a period of play and a 28-19 lead at the half.
Ellender pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Morgan City for a 50-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
No individual stats were available for Morgan City, which will return to action Friday when it travels to face South Terrebonne in a 6:30 p.m. District 7-4A contest.
Patterson falls to Erath
The Patterson High School Lumberjills fell at home to Erath, 67-33, in District 8-3A girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
Erath entered the game ranked No. 9 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A power rankings.
Alex Benjamin led Patterson with 25 points.
Other scorers included Kem Williams, six, and Erykah Singleton, two.
Patterson (7-7, 4-2) will return to action Friday when it hosts North Vermilion in a 6 p.m. contest.
