Franklin prevails over Berwick

Dwonyell Charles connected on a pair of free throws with 16 seconds remaining, lifting the Franklin Hornets to a 62-60 District 9-3A victory over the Berwick Panthers Friday at the FSHS Gym.
Charles scored a team-high 26 points on eight field goals, including four long-range bombs, and 6 of 9 charity shots. Kevin Ina tossed in 12 points, bagging three field goals and 6 of 9 free throws. D’Andre Charles pumped in 12 points on one trey, a pair of deuces and 5 of 9 freebies. Other top scorers for the Hornets were: Christopher Jones, 4; Justin Poledore, 3; Trey James, 2; John Boyd, 2 and Tylan Ireland, 1.
Karm Jones led Berwick with 26 points.
Franklin will play host to E. D. White on Tuesday in District 9-3A for Senior Night.
