Hanson Lady Tigers shut out Lady Eagles

ABBEVILLE _ The Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers shut out the Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles 10-0 in six innings here Wednesday in District 7-1A action.
Hanson’s Sarah Sonnier silenced the VC batters, tossing the shut out while fanning eight, giving up three hits over six innings. Sonnier tossed 69 pitches on the day en route to the victory in the circle.
Sonnier helped her own cause by going 4 for 4 at the plate, collecting three runs and one RBI.
Noel Baker was 3 for 3 with a triple run and two RBI.
Madeline Weber went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Alyssa Young went 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and two runs. Mackenzie Hebert was 2 for 4. Paige Diamond went 2 for 4, double, 2 RBI and one run. Charlotte Pillaro was 2 for 4 with 2 runs while Kaylee Broussard went 2 for 4 with a run and Lunden Verdin was 1 for 3.
Hanson struck for seven runs over the first two innings, taking a commanding 7-0 advantage. The Lady Tigers added two more runs in the top half of the fourth frame before scoring an insurance run in the top of the sixth inning to claim the 10-0 shut out victory.
