Hanson Tigers rally by Centerville

The Hanson Tigers erupted for six runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning to claim a 12-6 District 7-1A vicoty over the Centerville Bulldogs Saturday at the Amar Lancon Field.
Spencer Bishop recorded the mound win for the Tigers in relief of starter Evan Thibodeaux and reliever Noah Judice. Broussard took the mound loss for the Bulldogs after pitching a complete game.
Bishop earned the mound victory after working 4.67 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on no hits with eight strikeouts and one walk. Bishop faced 21 batters while throwing 71 total pitches with 48 strikes and 23 balls with one earned run on no hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.
Thibodeaux started on the hill for the Tigers, hurling two innings, surrendering one run on one hit with two strikeouts and three walks. He faced 11 batters, yielding one run on one hit with two strikeouts and three walks for 52 total pitches, including 26 strikes and 26 balls over two complete innings.
Judice appeared in relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning, giving up two runs (one earned) on no hits with three walks and one strikeout. He went .33 of an inning, facing 4 batters while totaling 23 pitches with 15 balls and 8 strikes and giving up one earned run with one strikeout and three walks.
Broussard went the distance for the Bulldogs, yielding 12 runs (3 earned) on 14 hits with five strikeouts and one walk. He recorded 91 total pitches with 58 strikes and 33 balls while facing 38 batters and giving up three earned runs on 14 hits with five strikeouts and one walk.
Top hitters for Hanson were: Brennan Young, 3 for 5, 3 runs, 3 RBIs; Bo Barrilleaux, 3 for 5, run, RBI; Chase Mensman, 2 for 2; John Guienze, 1 for 4; Britt Young, 2 for 4, 3 runs; Luke Lancon, 2 for 3, 3 runs, 2 RBIs and Luke Rodriguez, 1 for 2, 2 runs and 2 RBIs. Hanson’s John Guienze, Luke Rodriguez, Bo Barrilleaux and Britt Young all recorded doubles on the day.
LeBlanc led Centerville with a 1 for 4 outing while Burgess and Nash recorded two runs with Broussard and Candella scoring one. Candella also added one RBI.
Centerville opened with a 3-0 lead in the top half of the third inning. Hanson rallied for a 4-3 advantage with four runs in the bottom half of the fourth frame. The Bulldogs tallied three runs in the top half of the fifth frame for a 6-4 advantage. Hanson answered with six runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning, building a 10-6 cushion. The Tigers added two insurance runs in the sixth frame, securing the 12-6 victory.
Hanson Memorial (10-7, 3-2) will travel to face Centerville today at 4 in District 7-1A action.
