Centerville Bulldogs improve to 5-1 in 7-1A
CENTERVILLE _ The Centerville Bulldogs improved to 5-1 in District 7-1A here following a 62-44 victory here Friday at the CHS Gym.
Centerville improved to 8-6 on the season and 5-1 in 7-1A with the win.
Vermilion Catholic is now 9-5 overall and 3-3 in 7-1A.
Centerville will host Highland Baptist on Tuesday 2 games starting at 5.
Centerville jumped outfront by a 19-8 lead before securing a lop-sided 33-13 advantage at the half. Vermilion Catholic managed to outscore the Centerville Bulldogs in the 31-29 in the second half but it was too late as CHS held on for the huge 62-44 victory.
Centerville’s Lance Howard poured in a game-high 25 points on 8-2’s and 3-3’s.
Marquis Strawder finished with 10 point on 3-2’s and 4 of 4 FT.
Other top scorers for Centerville were: Jayvien Thomas, 2-2’s, 1-3, 2-2 FT, 9 points; Marvin Strawder, 5; Jaqualon Bourgeois, 5; Karl Young, 4; Cole Candella, 2 and Desmond Monette, 2.
Centerville connected on 8 of 11 free throws on the night.

Lady Eagles down CHS
CENTERVILLE _ Vermilion Catholic rolled past the Centerville Lady Bulldogs 51-24 in District 7-1A action here Friday at the CHS Gym.
Rylie Candella led the Centerville Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 12 points while Demochet and Doucet powered the VCHS Lady Eagles with 12 and 11 points respectively.
