'Jacks jump five spots in latest rankings

Patterson jumped five spots to lead area teams in the latest power rankings released by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Tuesday.
The Lumberjacks are ranked No. 5 in Class 3A this week.
Morgan City also moved up a spot in the Class 4A poll, as the Tigers now are ranked No. 40.
Also in Class 3A, Berwick remained idle at No. 45, while in Division IV (Class 1A select), Central Catholic slipped two spots to No. 3 in the latest rankings.
Vermilion Catholic, Central Catholic’s district foe, is the new No. 1 in Division IV, moving up a spot from a week ago.
In Class 4A, Plaquemine is No. 1 this week, replacing Benton. Plaquemine moved up two spots from a week ago.
Church Point remained No. 1 in Class 3A.
