Lady Eagles defeat Lady Hornets

THIBODAUX _ Gabi LeBlanc poured in 16 points, leading the E. D. White Lady Eagles to a 75-17 triumph over the Franklin Lady Hornets in District 8-3A action here Friday at the E. D. White High School Gym.
Franklin lost its first district game of the season on Friday at the hands of the E. D. White Lady Cardinals.
ED White entered the game with a 16-1 overall record and 2-0 in district.
The Lady Cardinals were too much for the Lady Hornets to handle from the start. At the end of the first quarter, the Lady Cardinals led by a one-sided score of 22-4. E. D. White coasted the rest of the way for the lop-sided 75-17 victory.
Kaira Butler had 7 points on 3 FGs and 1 of 2 FTs to lead the Lady Hornets in scoring.
Other scorers were Sta’Trail Butler and Kenyoda Cormier each with 4 points on 2 FGs, and Jazmine Byers with 2 points on 1 FG.
The Lady Cardinals had five players in double digits led by Gabi Leblanc who had 16 points on 4 FGs, 2 3-point FGs, and 2 of 3 FTs.
The Lady Hornets will play next on Tuesday in Erath.
Franklin’s next home game will be on Friday, January 13 against North Vermilion.
