Lady Eagles fall to Lafayette Christian

The Central Catholic Lady Eagles fell at home to Lafayette Christian, 39-20, in District 7-1A action Monday.
Hallie Autin led the Lady Eagles with 11 points.
Other scorers for the Lady Eagles included Sydney Williams with four points; Rebecca David and Taylor Picou with two points apiece; and Hanna McCue with one point.
Central Catholic (4-15 overall, 1-5 in district) will return to action Thursday when it travels to face Houma Christian in a 6 p.m. nondistrict contest.
Patterson defeats
Centerville
The Patterson Lumberjills defeated Centerville 42-22 in nondistrict girls’ basketball action Tuesday in Centerville.
While Patterson jumped out to an 18-7 lead after the first quarter, Centerville cut its deficit to 20-13 at the half.
Patterson came back in the third quarter, outscoring Centerville 13-0 for a 33-13 lead after three quarters.
Jazmin Evans led Patterson with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Alex Benjamin had 10 points, two rebounds and four steals.
Other scorers for Patterson included Nakia Brooks, six points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal; Gaylen Grogan, six points, nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block; Makayla Ruiz, four points, five rebounds, one assist and three steals; Erykah Singleton, two points each; Nia Broussard, two points, one assist and two steals; and Nyla Holder, one point, five rebounds and one steal.
Patterson (13-8) will resume District 9-3A play Friday when it hosts Donaldsonville in a 6 p.m. contest.
Morgan City falls
at Ellender
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to Ellender 103-47 in District 7-4A action in Houma Tuesday.
Casey Chenevert led Morgan City with 16 points, while Laqwaijha Bourgeois scored 11 and Alisha Singleton, 10.
Other scorers included Meya Morse with nine and Elicia Dorsey with one.
Morgan City (8-8, 1-2) will return to action Friday when it faces South Terrebonne in a 6 p.m. contest.
Franklin beats Berwick
The Berwick Lady Panthers fell to Franklin High School 55-2 in District 9-3A girls’ basketball action Tuesday in Berwick.
Franklin took a 29-0 lead after the first quarter, extended it to 31-0 at the half and led 43-0 after three quarters.
Berwick’s points came from a basket by Selena Percle.
The Lady Panthers (0-12, 0-3) will return to action next Tuesday when it travels to face Donaldsonville in District 9-3A action.
