Lady Terriers survive Lady Tigers, 51-41

The Morgan City Lady Tigers kept pace with Vandebilt Catholic but just could not get past the Lady Terriers as they fell 51-41 in a District 7-4A contest Thursday.
Morgan City had multiple chances to make a move against the Lady Terriers but couldn’t seize the moment.
No individual statistics were available for the Lady Tigers, who slip to 12-7 overall and 1-3 in district play.
Morgan City will return to action today when it travels to face Assumption in a 6 p.m. contest.
CCHS beats Gueydan
Central Catholic outscored Gueydan in three out of four quarters en route to a 58-34 District 7-1A win in Morgan City Thursday.
The Lady Eagles led 10-0 after the first quarter, but Gueydan came to life in the second quarter and trailed 20-12 at the half.
In the third quarter, Central Catholic began to distance themselves with a 23-8 scoring advantage for a 43-20 lead after three quarters.
Randi Brown led the Lady Eagles with 30 points and added 12 rebounds, five steals, three assists and two blocks
Meo Knight also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds as well as eight assists, four steals and one block.
Other top contributors included Gee Garrett, 10 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two assists; and Megan Landry, four points, three steals, three assists and eight rebounds.
Central Catholic (19-2) overall, 7-0 in district, will return to action today when it hosts Highland Baptist in a 6 p.m. contest.
The game will be broadcast on both KBZE 105.9 FM and KFRA 1390 AM.
Patterson falls to
E.D. White
The Patterson Lumberjills fell to E.D. White 61-33 in District 9-3A action in Thibodaux Thursday.
The Lumberjills actually took a 4-0 lead but E.D. White finished the first quarter on a 15-2 scoring advantage.
Patterson trailed 28-13 at halftime, but had whittled the lead down to 13 by the conclusion of the third quarter.
However, E.D. White ended the contest with a 14-0 run for the final.
Galen Grogan’s 10 points led the Lumberjills.
No other statistics were available for Patterson.
Patterson will return to action today when it hosts Berwick at 6 p.m.
