MCHS girls bowling team is 3-0

The Morgan City High School girls’ bowling team improved to 3-0 this week with wins against Terrebonne Wednesday and Vandebilt Catholic Monday.
Wednesday, Morgan City defeated Terrebonne, 18-9, at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Meghan Amador led the squad with a 549 series (203, 178, 168), while teammate Marissa Davis recorded a 514 series (173, 150, 191) and Hannah Pipes, a 487 series (175, 154, 158). Ali Tregle also bowled a 163.
Monday, Morgan City routed Vandebilt Catholic, 23-4, at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Pipes led Morgan City with a 694 series (278, 192, 224). Other top Morgan City bowlers included Mackenzie Amador (225, 165), Meghan Amador (208, 176), Davis (184), Tregle (158) and Kameron Patureau (155).
Morgan City will return to action next week when it opens district play against Houma Christian at Creole Lanes Monday and continues league play Wednesday against Berwick at Charlie’s Lane’s Wednesday. Both games are set for 3:40 p.m. starts.
Berwick girls fall
this week
The Berwick Lady Panthers’ bowling team fell to South Terrebonne and H.L. Bourgeois this week.
Monday, Berwick fell to South Terrebonne, 17-10, at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Shannon Derise led Berwick with a game of 198, while Brianna Toups bowled a 153 game.
Wednesday, Berwick fell to H.L. Bourgeois at Creole Lanes. No score or stats were available.
Berwick (0-3) will open district play Monday against E.D. White at Creole Lanes, while Wednesday, the squad will meet Morgan City at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City. Both matches are set to begin at 3:40 p.m.
CCHS co-ed team falls twice this week
Central Catholic High School’s co-ed bowling team fell to South Terrebonne and Thibodaux this week.
Wednesday, Central Catholic fell to South Terrebonne, 24-3, at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Dave Laubach led the team with games of 184 and 188, while Emily Price bowled a 153.
Monday, the Eagles fell to Thibodaux, 17-10, at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Laubach led Central Catholic with a 598 series (189, 269), while Price had a 564 series (212, 179, 173). Ashley Daigle added games of 179 and 165 to lead the squad.
On Jan. 18, Central Catholic fell to South Lafourche, 17-10, at Creole Lanes.
Laubach bowled a game of 188 and Price, a 158 game, to lead the squad.
Central Catholic (0-3) will have a bye Monday, but will begin district play Wednesday when it faces E.D. White at Creole Lanes in Houma in a 3:40 p.m. contest.
Morgan City boys drop two games
The Morgan City Tigers fell to Terrebonne and Vandebilt Catholic in high school bowling action this week.
Wednesday, Terrebonne defeated Morgan City, 17-10.
Zachary Stewart led Morgan City with a 543 series (202, 189), while Jayson Hidalgo bowled a 537 series (202, 178). Other top Morgan City bowlers included Jonanthan Spinella 535 series (192, 172, 171), Hau Vo 529 series (173, 180, 176), Devin Hidalgo (168, 208) and Jason Myers (201).
Monday, Morgan City fell, 20-7, to Vandebilt Catholic at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Spinella led Morgan City with a 649 series (211, 238, 200), while Jayson Hidalgo added a 585 series (173, 244, 168). Other top Tiger bowlers included Stewart with a 568 series (195, 172, 201), Devin Hidalgo, a 557 series (170, 170, 217); and Vo, a 534 series (189, 179, 166).
Morgan City (1-2) will return to action next week when it begins district play Monday against Houma Christian at Creole Lanes. Wednesday, the squad will continue league play at Charlie’s Lanes against Berwick. Both matches are set to begin at 3:40 p.m.
Berwick boys go 0-2
this week
The Berwick boys’ bowling team dropped two games this week as it fell to Vandebilt Catholic and South Terrebonne.
Monday, Berwick fell 21.5-5.5 to South Terrebonne at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Kyle Valdez bowled games of 167 and 225 to lead Berwick, while Abram Gilder recorded games of 222 and 160. Other top Berwick contributors included Ian Valdez (163) and Scott Price (161).
Wednesday, Berwick fell to Vandebilt Catholic at Creole Lanes. No scores or stats were available.
