The Morgan City Lady Tigers routed South Lafourche, 12-2, in five innings in softball action Thursday in Morgan City.
Morgan City scored in every inning except the first, plating three runs apiece in the second and third innings, one in the fourth and five in the fifth to end the game.
South Lafourche scored its two runs in the top of the fourth.
Kennedy Hebert finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs, a stolen base and a run to lead Morgan City. Other top offensive contributors included Dwanna LeBeau, 2-for-4, a home run, an RBI and two runs; McKenzie Smith, 3-for-4, a double, an RBI and a run; and Scottie Metrejean, 3-for-4, a double and an RBI.
Hebert pitched a complete game. In five innings, she surrendered two earned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.
Morgan City (10-5 overall, 5-1 in district) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Ellender in a District 7-4A contest set for a 4 p.m. start.
Patterson falls
to North Vermilion
The Patterson Lumberjacks fell to North Vermilion, 10-0, in District 8-3A action on the road Thursday.
No individual statistics were available from the contest.
Patterson (3-10, 2-6) will return to action Wednesday when it travels to face Ellender in a 4 p.m. contest.
