MCHS run-rules Assumption, 10-0 in six innings

Morgan City run-ruled Assumption, 10-0, in six innings in District 7-4A softball action Tuesday in Morgan City.
The Lady Tigers scored in every inning except the fifth en route to the victory.
Offensively, the Lady Tigers outhit Assumption, 8-2, while Assumption also committed seven errors.
Kennedy Hebert led Morgan City at the plate and on the mound. She finished 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs.
On the mound, she tossed a two hitter, surrendered one walk and striking out nine in six innings of work.
Other top offensive contributors included Allie Vincent, 2-for-3, a stolen base and a run; Scottie Metrejean, 1-for-2, a double; Dwanna LeBeau, 1-for-4, a triple, a stolen base and two runs; and Mattie Rivere, 1-for-4, an RBI and a run.
Morgan City (9-5 overall, 4-1 in district) will return to action Thursday when it hosts South Lafourche in district action.
Berwick falls
to New Iberia
Berwick High School dropped a 6-1 contest to New Iberia on the road Thursday.
The Lady Panthers committed seven errors in the loss.
New Iberia outhit Berwick, 7-5.
New Iberia scored three runs in the first, two more in the third and another in the fourth for a 6-0 lead.
Berwick plated its lone run in the top of the fifth.
Jordan Lipari suffered the loss for Berwick. In four innings, she surrendered six runs on six hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Mary Jordan Melancon led Berwick with a 2-for-2 performance, while Emma Hover finished 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Berwick (6-8, 2-1) will return to District 8-3A action today when it hosts E.D. White in a 4 p.m. contest. E.D. White is ranked No. 10 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings, while Berwick is No. 13.
Patterson falls
to Erath
The Patterson Lumberjills fell to Erath, 7-4, in District 8-3A softball action in Patterson Tuesday.
Tapanga Haven suffered the loss for Patterson.
Offensively, Shea Fontenot led Patterson with a 1-for-3 performance with a double and two RBIs. Other top contributors included Hailey Sehon, 1-for-3, an RBI and a run; and Makayla Knight, 1-for-3, an RBI.
Patterson (3-9, 2-5) will return to action Thursday when it travels to face North Vermilion at 4 p.m. in District 8-3A action. North Vermilion is ranked No. 4 in the latest Class 3A Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings, while Patterson is No. 37.
