MCHS Tigers place 10 on all-district teams

Morgan City High School placed 10 football players on the 8-4A All-District teams, including three first-team selections.
Defensive back Kevon Marsh, linebacker Anthony Rink and defensive lineman Darryl Johnson, a University of Louisiana at Lafayette commitment, were the Tigers’ first-team selections.
The Tigers had four second-team selections in defensive back Jaylen Jones, receiver Buddy Humphrey, guard Ben Vining and kicker Sergize Flores.
Honorable mention selections included linebacker Malcolm Watkins, running back Clifton Escort and guard Joseph “Turtle” Jones.
Morgan City finished its district season with a 0-4 record.
District co-champs Vandebilt Catholic and South Terrebonne took five of the six individual awards as South Terrebonne’s Cristian Wallis was Offensive Most Valuable Player and South Terrebonne’s David McCormick was Defensive MVP. South Terrebonne’s Jermaire Washington was the FLEX player, Vandebilt Catholic’s Tristan Guillory, the Athlete; and South Terrebonne’s Richard Curlin and former Vandebilt Catholic coach Brad Villavaso shared Coach of the Year honors. Villavaso is no longer with Vandebilt as he was fired the last week of the regular season.
Ellender Memorial’s Jared Turner was the team’s Return Specialist.
