They seem to have gotten better throughout the season, which I think the last couple weeks we haven’t and we need to get back on track and at least improve on something we’re doing.

The Vandebilt Catholic Terriers and the Morgan City Tigers enter Friday’s game in opposite directions.
Vandebilt, after a 0-6 start to the season, has won its past two games, including its first District 7-4A win against Assumption a week ago.
Meanwhile, Morgan City, who earlier this season won two games in three outings against West St. Mary and Franklin, respectively, has since dropped three consecutive contests, including back-to-back blowout losses to open district play. A week ago, No. 10 ranked South Terrebonne defeated Morgan City, 42-7, in a game that featured a running clock that began during the second quarter.
Friday, the Tigers will get an opportunity to turn things around, and Morgan City Coach Scott Tregle said he likes his team’s chances in its final two games.
A week ago, Vandebilt Catholic defeated Assumption, 27-7.
“They seem to have gotten better throughout the season, which I think the last couple weeks we haven’t and we need to get back on track and at least improve on something we’re doing,” Tregle said.
In last week’s win, Vandebilt got a 60-yard touchdown run by Gage Corte with 6:02 remaining in the first quarter.
While Assumption took a 7-6 lead with 8:17 remaining in the first half, Vandebilt responded late in the first half after recording an interception.
With the turnover in hand, Vandebilt moved down the field behind quarterback David Yancey. Yancey capped off the drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Peyton Barrios for a 13-7 lead.
In the second half, Vandebilt Catholic added a touchdown late in the quarter on an O’Shawn Henderson 2-yard touchdown run for a 20-7 lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Terriers got another score via a 33-yard touchdown reception by Chase Hutchinson for the final margin.
Tregle said Vandebilt does have more experience on its line than Morgan City and their defense is “probably” a bit more experienced and better, but Tregle said he thinks his running backs are better.
“We should be able to hang with them or win the game, depending on how the turnovers go,” Tregle said.
Individually, Tregle said the Terriers don’t have any “superstars,” but rather, they are just good ballplayers.
“They just got a bunch of kids that play hard and they don’t have any superstars,” Tregle said.
The Terriers runs a spread offense, while on defense, they feature a 4-3 look with cover 2 and a 5-2 look with cover 3.
Vandebilt Catholic is led on the ground this season by Courte, who has rushed for 559 yards on 139 carries with three touchdowns.
Henderson has carried 71 times for 317 yards and four scores.
Through the air, David Yancey has completed 29 of 62 passes for 285 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for the Terriers.
Hutchinson and Thomas St. Martin lead Vandebilt’s receivers. Hutchinson has hauled in 19 passes for 272 yards and five scores, while St. Martin has 22 catches for 256 yards.
A week ago, South Terrebonne rolled past Morgan City, taking a 42-0 lead after three quarters.
Morgan City, who was limited to two first downs in the contest, scored its lone points of the night in the fourth quarter via a 60-yard run by Kevon Marsh with 10 minutes remaining.
The Tigers finished the game with 43 yards of offense (36 rushing and seven passing).
Marsh leads the Tigers’ ground game this season with 99 carries for 649 yards and six touchdowns.
Jacolbi Francois also has rushed 63 times for 294 yards and two scores, while Jaylen Jones has added 26 carries for 204 yards and two scores.
Through the air, Hector Tolento has completed 15 of 49 pass attempts for 300 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions.
Jones also has caught 16 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns to lead Morgan City’s receivers.
Friday’s game will begin at 7 p.m.
