Taco Bell run-rules Skipper's, 12-2

Taco Bell run-ruled Skipper’s for Sports, 12-2, in six innings in Swampland baseball action in Berwick Monday.
Taco Bell (Berwick) jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings and extended its advantage to 9-0 after five complete.
While Skipper’s (Morgan City) scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Taco Bell responded with three in the bottom of the frame to end the game via mercy rule.
Andrew Askew earned the win for Taco Bell. In four innings, he hit one batter but issued no walks or hits and fanned six.
Offensively, Taco Bell outhit Skipper’s, 13-1.
Austin Price led Taco Bell with a 3-for-4 performance with an RBI and two runs. Other top offensive contributors included Kyle Pitre, 2-for-3, three RBIs, two runs and a stolen base; Bradley Gray, 2-for-3, a double, two runs and two stolen bases; Ty Duthu, 2-for-4, two RBIs and a run; Patrick Robertson, 1-for-1, a double and two RBIs; Andrew Askew, 1-for-2, an RBI, a run and a stolen base; Lucas Hatch, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; and Collin Kulka, an RBI.
Tucker Manuel suffered the loss for Skipper’s. In 2.2 innings, he surrendered eight runs — five earned — on six hits with six walks, one hit batter and two strikeouts.
Logan Gros had Skipper’s lone hit as he finished 1-for-2 with an RBI. Ross Albritton also had an RBI for Skipper’s.
In junior varsity action, Taco Bell defeated Skipper’s, 9-6.
While Skipper’s scored a run in the top of the first, Taco Bell took the lead for good with six runs in the bottom of the frame.
While Skipper’s scored four runs in the top of the third to cut its deficit to 7-5, Skipper’s could get no closer.
Alex Orlando led Taco Bell with a 2-for-2 performance with three RBIs. Other top offensive contributors included Seth Giroir, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run; and Shayne Berger, an RBI and a run.
Rustin Ratcliff earned the win for Taco Bell. In two innings, he surrendered four runs — three earned — on one hit with five walks and two strikeouts.
Seth Canty suffered the loss for Skipper’s. In two innings, he surrendered seven runs — six earned — on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
Offensively, Cade Dupre led Skipper’s with a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs and a run. Other top offensive contributors included Mitchell Mancuso, 2-for-2, a double and two runs; and Kyle Ring, Dylan Tingle and Mike Crappell, each an RBI.
Skipper’s (2-2) will return to action today when it travels to face Covenant Christian. Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Taco Bell (2-2) will return to action today when it travels to face Associated Pump and Supply (Ellender). Junior varsity action is set for a 3:30 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 5:30 p.m.
Halimar defeats
Jester’s Court
Halimar Shipyard (Central Catholic) earned its first Swampland Baseball season victory Tuesday, an 11-4 victory against Jester’s Court (Central Lafourche) on the road.
Gregory Leger earned the win on the mound for Halimar.
Offensively, Thomas Mire led Halimar with a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs, while Jesse Fontenot was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Halimar (1-2) will return to action today when it hosts Crawdaddy’s Seafood (Houma Christian). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
BCG Services
defeats TrimCo
BCG Services eased by TrimCo Millwork and Supply, 9-1, in Swampland baseball action Monday in Patterson.
The visitors scored in each of the first three innings for a 5-0 lead.
While TrimCo scored its run in the bottom of the fourth, BCG Services came back with a run in the top of the fifth and three more in the top of the sixth.
BCG services only outhit TrimCo, 4-3, but TrimCo committed six errors on defense, while its pitchers combined for seven walks and two hit batters.
Bryce Daigle suffered the loss for TrimCo. In 2.1 innings, he surrendered five runs — two earned — on two hits with four walks and one hit batter.
Offensively, Joel Singleton led TrimCo with a 1-for-3 performance with an RBI.
TrimCo (1-3) will return to action today when it hosts Praxair (H.L. Bourgeois). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
