Mr. and Mrs. Luke Ordogne

Charbonnet-Ordogne wed Aug. 5

Adelaide Catherine Charbonnet and Luke Samuel Ordogne were married during a 7 p.m. double-ring ceremony on Aug. 5 at Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Orleans. Officiants were the Revs. Colin Braud, Edwin Gros and William Schambough, and Deacon Uriel Durr.
The bride is the daughter of Charles H. Gaudreau of Clearwater, Florida, and the late Lisette A. Charbonnet. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton J. Charbonnet.
The groom is the son of Mark and Dr. Karen Ordogne of Berwick. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hayes Sr. and Marcelle Ordogne, all of Morgan City, and the late Murray Ordogne.
Cantor was Elizabeth Rizzo. Gift bearers for the ceremony were Virginia Bryan, Margaret Ann Bryan and Lucy Bryan. Readers were Dale Hayes and Tommy Hayes, uncles of the groom; and Casey Fletcher.
The bride, escorted in marriage by Randy Bryan, was attired in a satin A-line gown designed with a ruched bodice and a strapless sweetheart neckline. Her waistline was adorned with a beaded belt.
Gracing her head was a double-tiered, cathedral-length veil of illusion.
She carried a bouquet of Patience garden roses, ivory ranunculus, off-white hydrangea, ivory lisianthus, hypericum berry and dusty miller. Completing the bouquet was an antique gold rosary belonging to her maternal grandmother.
Emily Thornhill Davis, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a floor-length pewter dress and carried a hand-tied bouquet of purple irises.
Bridesmaids were Lauren Gentile, sister of the groom; Hollie Daigle, Lauren Wyler, Esther Shpak, Melissa Malan and Melanie Bon.
Flower girl Elise Gentile, niece of the groom, wore a tea-length dress in ivory silk with a satin sash. Gracing her head was a wreath of baby’s breath. She carried a pomander of Cool Water roses and violet stock.
Ringbearers were Luke Gentile, Max Gentile and Gabe Gentile, nephews of the groom.
Travis Speier was best man. Groomsmen were Murray Morella, cousin of the groom; Geoffrey Gentile, brother-in-law of the groom; Francisco Sterling, Derek Foreman, Philip Braun and Michael Sigur.
Ushers were Doug McRae, Bart Moreau and Chris Bruno.
A reception followed at The Orleans Club in New Orleans.
Entryway tables were adorned with silver and gold frames holding photos of the bride’s and groom’s ancestors on their wedding day. Tables outlining the ballroom were set with vintage brass, candles, hydrangea and irises. The dance floor was bordered with Southern ferns and plumbago. Tri-level chandeliers provided dance floor lighting.
The club was decorated with hydrangea, rodeo and prince tulips, violet stock, Cool Water roses, Hong Kong purple iris, purple lisianthus and dusty miller.
Guests were served traditional New Orleans cuisine.
An artist was present to create an oil painting of the reception with guests as a keepsake for the couple.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans.
Other prenuptial events included an engagement crawfish boil at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Terry Creel in New Orleans, a bridal luncheon hosted by the bride’s aunts Adelaide O’Connor, Karen Charbonnet, Suzie Colledge, Jamie Charbonnet, Ninette Eastman and Alyce Thornhill, and a luncheon hosted by Mrs. Randy Bryan.
The bride is a graduate of Ursaline Academy in New Orleans, earned a degree in management from the University of New Orleans and a degree as a dietetic technician from Delgado College in New Orleans. She is employed at Hannan Wellness Clinic in New Orleans.
The groom attended Central Catholic High School in Morgan City. He graduated with a degree in philosophy from Ava Maria University in Naples, Florida. He is a district manager with Republic National Distributing Company in New Orleans.
