Listi-Montgomery married at Sacred Heart church

Julie Ann Listi and William James Montgomery were married Oct. 18 during a 7 p.m. double-ring ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City. The Rev. Gregory Fratt was celebrant of the nuptial Mass, the Rev. Angel Cremaldi was concelebrant and the Rev. Mr. Randall Jennings assisted.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dean Listi of Morgan City. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glynn Rozas of Lafayette and the late Gerald F. Call, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Listi Sr.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael H. Montgomery of Opelousas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Cefalu Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mike Montgomery.
For the occasion, the altar held arrangements of white larkspur, snapdragons and stock interspersed with green spider mums and blue delphinium.
Music was by Lee LeBlanc, organist; Margaret Kidder, vocalist and Dr. Paul Morton, trumpeter. Readers were Frank Listi Jr., uncle of the bride; Kortney Sonnier, and Peggy Gowland, aunt of the bride. Giftbearers were Guy Cannata, godfather of the bride and Mary Ella Testa and William Cefalu Sr., godparents of the groom. Program attendants were Eileen Thompson, aunt of the bride and Elizabeth Thompson, cousin of the bride.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a sheath gown of ivory charmeuse satin overlaid with lace adorned with embroidery appliques and crystals. Complementing the gown was a semi-cathedral train.
Her fingertip-length veil of tulle was trimmed with Alencon lace.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Vendela and Majolica roses surrounded by miniature green hydrangeas.
Maria Listi Montet was her sister’s matron of honor. She wore a one-shoulder A-line gown of floor-length navy blue chiffon featuring an empire waistline.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white alstroemeria lilies, green button mums, light green dianthus and blue delphiniums.
Bridesmaids were Mallory Johnson Fuhrer, Abby Burke, Emily Burke, Natalie Ward Allen, and Mary Montgomery Sliman and Dr. Melanie Montgomery Bienvenu, sisters of the groom.
M. Joseph Montgomery served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffrey Fontenot, Charles Minyard, Charles Sarver, Andrew Sonnier, Paul Brownlee and Dean Listi Jr., brother of the bride.
Ushers were Gene Songy, Jeffrey Mizzi and Danny Stelly.
A reception followed at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City. Tables were decorated with topiaries and arrangements of white royal bach lilies, white and green alstromeria lilies, green dot poms, white dianthus, green hydrangeas and sprigs of blue delphinium.
The bride’s cake was a five-tiered confection topped with flowers that matched the bride’s bouquet. The couple’s monogram adorned the side of the cake.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the River Room at Café Jo Jo’s in Morgan City.
The bride is a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Morgan City and the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she earned a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She is employed at the office of Dean L. Listi, DDS, in Morgan City.
The groom is a graduate of Opelousas High School and Nicholls State University in Thibodaux where he earned a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts. He is director of operations at Moe’s Southwest Grill in Houma.
They are honeymooning in Antigua and will reside in Houma.
